GENEVA Air Max 90 Shoes Sale , July 21 (Xinhua) -- The UN refugee agency, UNHCR, on Friday said it welcomes this week's launching of a Pakistan government program to register undocumented Afghans living in the country, estimated between 600 Air Max 2017 Shoes Sale ,000 to one million.
"This significant step will help regularize the stay for many Afghans at a time when return to their home country may not be possible," said UNHCR spokesperson Duniya Aslam Khan.
Afghans registered under this new scheme will receive Afghan Citizen cards, providing them legal protection from arbitrary arrests, detention or deportation under Pakistan's Foreigner's Act said the UNHCR.
"The citizen cards will allow Afghans to stay in Pakistan for the time being Air Max 2018 Shoes Sale , until they can be issued documents, such as passports, by the Government of Afghanistan," said Khan.

UNHCR said the registration of undocumented Afghans follows three years of consultations between the governments of Afghanistan and Pakistan and refugeed agency.
It forms part of Pakistan's Comprehensive Policy on the Repatriation and Management of Afghans, endorsed by its cabinet in February this year.
The plan includes: extending the validity of the Proof of Registration cards to some 1.4 million registered Afghans refugees until the end of 2017; a commitment to adopt a national refugee law; and a visa regime for different categories of Afghan refugees who have the Proof of Registration (PoR) cards.
The six-month registration programme began July 20 with the launch of a pilot in the country's capital Islamabad and the north-western city of Peshawar, which hosts the largest number of undocumented of Afghans.
The program is expected to be rolled out in all four provinces from Aug. 16.
Pakistan's National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Ministry of States and Frontier Regions and the Afghan Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation will oversee the project with support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and UNHCR.

MELBOURNE, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Australian researchers have developed a drug capable of reprogramming the immune system to fight cancer, it was announced on Thursday.
The landmark new therapy Nike Air Max 2017 Sale , developed by the Peter MacCallum Cancer Center, involves removing immune cells from the body to genetically enhance them before putting them back in the body to fight cancer.
The form of immunotherapy has previously been effective in fighting blood cancers but lead scientists Phillip Darcy and Paul Beavis found a way to improve its effectiveness against solid tumors for the first time.
Darcy said that the enhanced immune cells, known as CAR T cells, have been ineffective against solid tumors which have been able to produce a metabolite called adenosine which destroys the cells.
Some tumors have even shown the ability to simply reverse the enhancements placed on the cells Nike Air Max 2018 Sale , making them revert to T cells which have little ability to combat the tumors.
"The suppressive tumour environment dampens down the ability of the immune cells so we needed to give the cells something extra to be able to work in those environments," Darcy told Australian media on Thursday.
Researchers successfully trialled a drug in mice that blocks the metabolite, allowing CAR T cells to effectively target tumors.
They are now planning to take the drug into phase one human trials.
"We are really excited by the results and the possibilities emerging from immunotherapy," Darcy said.

HANGZHOU, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Xiamen Airlines, a subsidiary of China Southern Airlines Air Max 2017 Sale , launched a direct service from Hangzhou in east China's Zhejiang Province to Melbourne on Saturday.
This is the first non-stop service linking the two cities. A Boeing 787 will operate two round trip flights a week. The flights take about 10 hours 30 minutes each way, slashing the travel time by three to five hours compared with previous connecting flights by way of Guangzhou or Hong Kong.
The launch of the intercontinental air route coincides with the 45th anniversary of the establ.
